PLAY airlines joins GO7 network with fares now available on GDSs

Its budget-friendly route network is now available on GDSs

PLAY airlines, Iceland’s largest low-cost carrier, has announced a strategic partnership with GO7, a global leader in airline technology, to broaden its route offerings across its key regions – Iceland, Europe, and North America – via its Keflavík International Airport (KEF) hub.

The partnership means PLAY airlines is now available for sale on GDSs through GO7’s W2 global ticketing network.

This integration now allows passengers to have access to more perks such as complimentary stopovers in Iceland on all transatlantic flights.

The news comes after the carrier recently introduced ticket sales for more destinations, including Cardiff, Madeira, Marrakech, Vilnius, and Split.

GO7’s W2 platform means booking PLAY flights is simpler through business travel managers, through OTAs as well as any travel agency’s preferred GDS.

Flights are listed under GO7’s W1 marketing carrier code and available for ticketing globally under W2’s Ticketing designator code.

The attractive PLAY fares which include ancillaries such as a cabin bag and one checked bag (up to 23kg) are now available for purchase on all major GDS.

Tatiana Shirokova, head of distribution of PLAY airlines, said: "As part of our commitment to providing affordable and accessible air travel options, we are delighted to join GO7’s W2 Network.

"This partnership aligns with our mission to offer travellers a seamless and enjoyable travel experience while maintaining our focus on affordability and convenience."

Peer Winter, chief distribution officer of GO7, said: "We are thrilled to welcome PLAY airlines to our W2 Network.

"Our collaboration represents a shared commitment to providing travellers with unparalleled convenience by air travel. By integrating PLAY airlines’ route network into our platform, we aim to enhance the overall travel experience for passengers and facilitate seamless global connectivity across key destinations."
