The move will see the two titles unite
Travolution confirms TOM.travel will join forces for strengthened European-wide reach
French-speaking travel technology title, TOM, will be absorbed into Europe's leading B2B travel tech and digital travel publication, it's been confirmed.
The transformation journey for the two medias which will see the two unite as one has already started with the French site sporting a new logo and a mention of its parent brand, Travolution.
This change is the first step that calls for the two tech-dedicated titles in the Eventiz group - which also owns L'Écho touristique and DéplacementsPros.com - and only acquired the brand in October, this year.
“The Travolution brand is strong and internationally recognized ,” said Frédéric Vanhoutte, president of Eventiz.
“Its reputation for quality is also well established. That’s why, for years, we’ve been in talks with Jacobs Media to promote a merger between Travolution and our equivalent French brand, TOM.travel.”
This approach is a no-brainer for the president, as he believes themes related to innovation and technology often need to be understood on a continental or even global scale.
“It was necessary to have a European voice in the field of monitoring information and technologies related to travel and tourism,” he added.
“This need has now been met, because the technology is not specific to any particular market, and the consolidation of tourism players requires solutions that can be shared globally.”
In the coming months, the two publications will intensify its collaboration, share more content and co-ordinate news coverage until TOM.travel is absorbed by the English speaking title, to become the French-language version of the brand.
