Skyscanner launches app in ChatGPT for UK and US

Travellers can now browse flights without leaving

Metasearch giant, Skyscanner, is the latest travel brand to launch an app in ChatGPT.

It comes after Booking.com, Expedia, Accor, Awaze, and more, have all followed suit.

It will enable travellers to search and find the best possible options and price choices for flights witin ChatGPT, all travellers have to do is type something simple, like, “Skyscanner, find me the cheapest flight to New York in December”.

From there, users will be able use the Skyscanner app to compare flight options and prices and adjust dates or airports with a quick message.  

The firm said it's "the Skyscanner logic and prices people trust, wrapped into a more intuitive, conversational flow". 

It's launched in the UK and the US.

"Travellers can now access the Skyscanner app in ChatGPT to search for the best options and flight prices for their trip,” said Piero Sierra, Skyscanner’s Chief AI officer, who is leading Skyscanner’s AI strategy for travel.   

He added: "We’ll continue evolving travel search beyond form-fills toward dynamic, answer-led experiences. 

"We’ll scale natural language search with explainability, and expand agentic scenarios only where trust and economics work.  Success in AI will be defined by better decisions and earned traveller trust.”
