Ice Travel Group Pulse: Focus turns to the summer holiday

Most bookings on iceolly.com and TravelSupermarket for travel to October

Holidaymakers’ attention is turning to searching for and booking their summer holiday, according to the latest data from icelolly.com and TravelSupermarket.

Ice Travel Group’s weekly Pulse barometer for the week to April 24 reported that the vast majority of bookings are now for the period between May and October.

May remained the most popular departure month for people searching for deals, closely followed by June and the peak travel period of July and August.

Chris Webber, head of holidays and deals at Ice Travel Group, said the focus was now clearly on this summer following the Easter break. 

“There was another week of increased searches and bookings on both icelolly.com and TravelSupermarket as we headed out of the Easter holidays and focus firmly landed on the big summer holiday, 2022. 

“Close to nine out of 10 bookings are for travel between now and the end of October, with near term travel in May and June near to 40% of all searches on both sites. 

“Tenerife and Majorca are proving the most-popular for summer travel, though destinations in Turkey are also booking well for summer 2022.”

On icelolly.com, Gran Canaria saw the biggest search gains, with a more-than 50% increase in share week-on-week while Crete was the big gainer on TravelSupermarket as Antalya in Turkey lost share.
