Updates span Complete, Egencia and Neo solutions
Amex GBT adds new intelligence capabilities
American Express Global Business Travel has revealed a series of platform enhancements for better options for travel managers alongside handy traveller disruption tools.
New features and functionality include an AI-powered Travel Manager Dashboard for Egencia customers; spend intelligence, leakage visibility, end-to-end disruption management, and direct loyalty and benefits integration into the booking experience for Complete by SAP Concur and Amex GBT; and new capabilities for clients that use Guest Travel & Expense (T&E).
“The business travel value conversation is shifting from ‘how much did we spend’ to ‘what did that travel enable'," said Drew Crawley, president of Amex GBT.
"We are investing in the technology, insights and expertise to support that shift so our customers and travellers can answer that question with confidence.”
Leakage reporting in Complete now shows travel managers how much is being spent outside the managed travel programme, broken down by line of business, travel category, vendor, and traveller.
It pulls together travel and expense data from Concur Travel and Amex GBT, including offline bookings, to improve spend visibility.
Beyond today’s announcements, customers are already seeing the impact of close collaboration between Amex GBT and SAP Concur:
"What Amex GBT and SAP Concur have accomplished together with Complete in nine months has been very impressive,” said Dorian Stonie, senior director of global travel of Salesforce.
“The walls came down, and two things stand out. First, the level of collaboration with joint engineering teams working side by side in ways that simply wouldn't have been possible before has driven real improvement for my program and my travellers," he said.
"Second, the pace of progress has genuinely exceeded my expectations, given the scope of what they have set out to deliver, and we're looking forward to what Amex GBT and SAP Concur release next.”
Powered by more than a petabyte of travel data, the Egencia Travel Manager Dashboard gives travel managers a centralised, real-time view of program performance.
It includes an AI-generated programme summary, the One Minute Travel Manager (updated bi-weekly), key performance indicators, a travel program effectiveness score, proactive alerts and single-click access to the tools travel managers use most.
Now, the Complete mobile app brings disruption management directly into the user experience as travellers can access real-time notifications, self-service trip changes, automatic airline fee waivers, personalized recommendations, and live chat support without leaving the app.
The addition of perks into Complete allows for supplier offers, negotiated rates and loyalty benefits directly into the booking experience across air, hotel and ground.
This new functionality is expected to follow in Egencia soon. Corporate contract benefits, traveller loyalty entitlements and Amex GBT-negotiated extras are visible and applied automatically at point of sale, removing the need to switch tools or manage benefits manually.
The corporate travel giant has said AI-assisted virtual card budgeting and AI-generated event landing pages are on the roadmap for 2026.
“What we're announcing today reflects the breadth of investment we're making across our portfolio — from AI-powered program intelligence for travel managers to seamless disruption management for travellers, to a fully integrated solution for non-employee travel,” said Evan Konwiser, chief product & strategy officer of Amex GBT.
“No matter what Amex GBT solution you're on, you’re going to see the difference. We're committed to making every part of the managed travel experience smarter, simpler, and more connected."
Amex GBT also recently launched an Egencia AI connector in Claude, enabling travelers and enterprise AI agents to search, book, and manage policy-compliant business travel without leaving the tools they already use. The announcement included an expansion of conversational AI into Google Chat for Egencia and a Microsoft Teams pilot for Neo customers, all underpinned by Amex GBT's new proprietary agent-to-agent architecture.
