Loveholidays kicks off OTA's first football sponsorship with Hearts

Deal to become the Edinburgh club's official holiday partner comes after rebrand in December

OTA loveholidays has become the official holiday partner for Scottish football club Heart of Midlothian FC.

The deal with the Edinburgh club is loveholidays’ first major sponsorship deal, the firm saying it reflects a renewed focus on brand marketing following its rebrand in December.

The loveholidays brand will feature on pitch-side advertising boards and on the ground’s big screen as well as on the club’s social media channels.

Marking the announcement, the OTA teamed up with Hearts’ captains Craig Gordon and Georgia Hunter this week to surprise commuters at Edinburgh Waverley train station.

The pair gave members of the public the chance to spin their ‘wheel of sunshine’ to win a range of prizes.

Al Murray, chief marketing officer at loveholidays, said: “We’re delighted to have signed with Hearts as their official holiday partner and are looking forward to working with the team for the remainder of the season.

“There’s a natural alignment between the club’s inclusivity values and our own values at loveholidays, as we continue our mission to open the world to everyone.”

Catriona McCallum, Heart of Midlothian FC’s commercial and marketing director, added: “We are really pleased to welcome loveholidays on board as Hearts’ official holiday partner and have no doubt that this is a brand our supporters will be keen to engage with.

“As the UK’s largest fan-owned club, it is really important for us that our fans are at the heart of our partnerships and loveholidays’ values closely align with our own.

“Craig and Georgia kicking things off by sending the lucky winners at Waverley on their travels is a great way to start our relationship and we’re excited to be working closely with Al’s team in the coming months to bring the partnership to life.”
