HBX Group selects Outpayce to accelerate fintech transformation

partnership launches global virtual card programme

HBX Group, a leading B2B travel technology marketplace, has struck a strategic partnership with Outpayce, the payments arm of Amadeus, to transform how travel buyers and sellers manage digital payments.

The Group will deploy Outpayce’s cloud-native fintech platform to launch a new Payment Program that simplifies and automates how travel agencies pay hotels, airlines, aggregators and destination service providers.

HBX Group, which owns and operates Hotelbeds, Bedsonline, The Luxurist, Roiback and Civitfun, will also adopt Outpayce B2B Wallet to power its supplier payment flows, aiming to improve acceptance, drive operational efficiency and cut manual effort across billions of euros in annual transactions.

Daniel Nordholm, CIO and fintech lead at HBX Group, said: “Fintech is a powerful growth engine for HBX Group. By partnering with Outpayce, we are merging deep travel expertise with advanced payment technology to create meaningful value for our ecosystem.

"This collaboration enables us to modernize financial processes, automate at scale, and unlock new efficiencies across the entire travel value chain. We’re already seeing impact across our trade partner flows and are now focused on delivering the same seamless, end-to-end experience to travel sellers worldwide.”

The Outpayce platform combines issuing and financial services capabilities with travel-specific features such as enhanced reconciliation and advanced cybersecurity.

Partners across the HBX network will benefit from virtual cards issued by Outpayce, real-time data insights, seamless integration with Outpayce B2B Wallet, and a dedicated B2B Wallet portal to streamline reporting and settlement.

Both companies also plan to extend the solution to support inbound (pay-in) flows, enabling a fully connected, end-to-end payments ecosystem.

Sam Abdou, CEO of Outpayce, said: “This partnership marks a major milestone for Outpayce, validating our strategy to secure an e-Money license and develop a cloud-native issuing stack from the ground up that’s specifically designed for the travel industry.

"With HBX Group, we’re already issuing virtual cards at significant scale as well as working towards pay-in scenarios and we see huge potential to expand both services across the travel ecosystem.”

The digitisation of settlement between travel professionals is accelerating as virtual cards gain ground, accounting automation spreads and security requirements tighten.

Industry players are looking for integrated solutions that cover both pay-out and pay-in flows. For suppliers as well as distributors, the expected gains include better acceptance, faster settlement and lower operating costs.
