CMAC Group acquires minicabit to supercharge ancillary revenue for UK travel brands

Group's offerings now offer 'meaningful data insights'

Cab comparison platform, minicabit, has announced it is now part of ground transport specialist and aggregator, CMAC Group for an undisclosed amount.

The move sees the CMAC group portfolio - which also includes Suntransfers.com for international transfers and CoachHireComparison.co.uk for group travel - now offer a "genuine" end-to-end, multi-modal ground transport solution, domestically and internationally.

It's said that the acquisition significantly strengthens CMAC Group's B2B2C ancillary revenue offering across the full spectrum of the UK travel trade - turning the first and last mile of customers’ trips for airlines and OTAs to hotel groups, travel agents and train operating companies (TOCs) into "meaningful data insights and margin-generating revenue".

Amer Hasan, minicabit’s founder, who will stay on as minicabit’s managing director, said: "Joining CMAC Group opens up an entirely new dimension for minicabit.

"We've spent over a decade building the platform, the operator network and consumer trust - and now we have the institutional backing, the B2B relationships and the distribution reach to take it to a completely different level.

"For travel partners, this is the moment to add ground transport comparison to their ancillary mix. The product is ready, the supply is there, and with the peak travel season coming fast, the timing is perfect."

Peter Slater, CEO of CMAC Group, said: “minicabit adds best-in-class aggregation technology and deep consumer reach to CMAC.

"Together, we can offer the travel trade something genuinely differentiated - best-value cab comparison at scale, with the reliability and compliance standards our partners expect. We’re excited to help partners elevate the door-to-door experience while unlocking new revenue for them.”
