Gold Medal receives more calls than ever before in its history

dnata Travel Group's flagship brand has record breaking volume

Last week saw the award-winning tour operator, Gold Medal, break its own call volume record.

The most calls offered in any single day came on Monday where calls were 17% higher than the same day last year.

Since the start of peaks, the flagship brand of dnata Travel Group UK have seen a +22% growth in calls through this January peaks period so far, compared to the same period last year.

This news comes shortly after The winner of Travel Weekly's Globe Travel Award 2024 for Best Long-Haul Operator recorded its highest growth in web bookings ever, on Sunshine Saturday.

Following this, the brand then beat their record for bookings through the web again, on Tuesday this week.

Gold Medal’s top destinations include New York, Dubai and Florida as the most popular destinations for bookers so far, with most holidays overall departing in Summer 2024.

The long-haul operator has shared that Thailand was trending throughout 2023 and doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon. Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui are the standout locations for customers heading to this destination.

Simon Applebaum, managing director of Gold Medal, said, “Last year’s peaks period was really successful for us and so this year on year growth is phenomenal.

"We’re delighted so many of our trade partners are having such a strong peaks and that they continue to trust dnata and Gold Medal to provide their customers with the highest quality tailor-made holidays.

"Our sales centre colleagues are handling the demand and continue to provide the highest levels of service.”
