Ryanair’s charm offensive is paying off, claims survey

Ryanair’s new charm offensive appears to be paying off with more than two thirds (67%) of travellers now saying they are more likely to fly with the airline.

Ryanair’s new charm offensive appears to be paying off with more than two thirds (67%) of travellers now saying they are more likely to fly with the airline.

However, nearly one in three travellers (29%) are adamant that the changes still will not sway their decision to fly with Ryanair, according to a survey conducted by global travel search site Skyscanner.

Baggage charges appear to be the biggest issue for budget airline passengers, with almost a third of those surveyed having incurred unexpected charges for oversized hand luggage.

Ryanair’s change in policy which allows passengers to now carry an extra small bag on board is the one travellers most welcome, with 39% of the vote.

The airline announced plans earlier this week to change several of its policies including dropping the cost of adding hold luggage at the airport and introducing a 24 hour ‘grace’ period, which allows passengers to correct minor mistakes made during the booking process at no extra cost.

A Skyscanner spokeswoman said: “The results of this survey show that these new policies are a welcome change for travellers and we expect to see the airline attracting many new passengers over the coming months.”
