Spanish hotel operator says trade partners are being offered ‘cutting-edge’ tools
Riu Hotels & Resorts launches new website for travel agents
Riu Hotels & Resorts has launched its Riu Pro website, describing it as “a cutting-edge tool that brings together everything travel agencies need to do their work, in a single place”.
The Spanish hotel chain said travel agents have traditionally been “allies” in its growth, and they are “still key” to its marketing.
Designed with feedback from agents, the website project has been finished during the “compulsory pause” caused by the pandemic.
The website incorporates the Riu Partner Club loyalty programme and access to the Riu Brand Centre database and image bank, as well as information and announcements that are relevant to travel agents.
Luis Riu Güell, chief executive of Riu Hotels & Resorts, said: “Travel agents have been key in our history. It all started with that first visit to Germany’s travel agencies in 1954, through which my father Luis Riu Bertrán booked out the 80 beds in our first hotel, Riu San Francisco.
“Since then, our relationship with professionals in the sector has done nothing but grow.
“Given the tradition, loyalty and the enormous importance they have for our business, it was key for us to offer professionals the very latest technology, so they can accompany us for the next 65 years, at least.”
Agents can go to www.riupro.com to enter their usual passwords and access the functions and new features.
Riu Hotels & Resorts has 99 hotels in 19 countries, which welcome more than 4.9 million guests a year.
