Coronavirus: The most popular travel-related Zoom backgrounds revealed
With video conferencing platform Zoom becoming the favoured mode of communication among remote workers during the COVID-19 pandemic the backgrounds people choose has prompted much debate.
And with Zoom offering users the ability to choose their own virtual backgrounds it was only a matter of time before someone decided to poll people about what they opt to be seen sitting in front of when chatting to colleagues.

OnBuy said: “With the exemption of the phenomenal key workers, most people are now working from home to safeguard against the spread of Covid-19. One of the primary online tools’ workers use to stay connected with their colleagues is the video conferencing platform Zoom.
“A feature of Zoom which is particularly fascinating to users is the ability to change the background image, with many admittedly spending a significant amount of time trying to pick the ‘right one’ to transport them abroad.”
OnBuy.com found that New York’s Times Square is the most used tourist attraction as a Zoom background image followed by the Eiffel Tower.
Five of the Seven Wonders of the World are prominently used as background images including the Colosseum in Rome, The Great Pyramid of Giza in Cairo, the Taj Mahal in Agra, the Great Wall of China in Huairou District and Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro.
Overall 57% of the people surveyed said the option to change the background image is their favourite aspect of Zoom.
