SkiYodl expands further in Europe with seven new Swiss locations

Online marketplace specialises in self-catered ski accommodation for British travel market

Travel tech startup and online marketplace SkiYodl has announced news of further expansion into Europe with seven new Swiss ski locations added to its ‘tech-first, ski-second’ website.

The new resorts featured on the four-year old marketplace are located in Zermatt, Wengen, Saas-Fee, Engelberg, Nendaz, Crans-Montana and Verbier.

Oli Dannatt, founder of SkiYodl, said: “Following a hugely successful 2022/23 season, expanding our reach into Switzerland was a natural step for us and one which we know our customers have been eagerly anticipating.

“The addition of these new locations underpins SkiYodl’s continued growth and commitment bringing yet more ultra-authentic ski holiday experiences to British skiers.”

SkiYodl enables skiers to connect with ‘fixers’, who have “in-depth local knowledge” for concierge style local recommendations, restaurant/experience bookings, for a “unique, ultra-authentic experience”.

The app further also features snow forecasts, webcam visibility and information on local businesses.

The addition of new Swiss locations marks “another exciting phase” for the company, who have so far raised over £1m from over 650 investors including F1 boss Eddie Jordan and football pundit, Jake Humprey.

SkiYodl plans to develop its technology and use of AI and to expand its marketplace to incorporate more local businesses and services in-resort.

It will also build uponthe number of properties and locations offered, as well as to launch its first hand-picked hotels and a summer product in the Alps.

The company said long-term plans will see SkiYodl expand into further European resorts as well as enter the North American market.
