Pan Am makes come back

Pan Am makes come back

With help of Amadeus

The iconic airline Pan Am is partnering with Amadeus for its comeback.

This new version relies on cutting-edge technologies to offer a premium experience to its passengers.

Amadeus has been chosen as the technology partner for the return to business of the iconic Pan American World Airways.

The two companies have signed an agreement to offer a "modern and seamless" travel experience on scheduled flights.

“We are honored that the legendary Pan Am brand is preparing to take flight again thanks to Amadeus’ future-proof technology, which combines the airline’s rich heritage with modern distribution, personalised offers, and a seamless digital experience ,” said Kamal Singhee, SVP airlines for North America at Amadeus.

The airline, whose difficulties began with the oil crisis of the 1970s, ceased operations in 1991. This initiative, led since 2025 by Ed Wegel, founder of Global Crossing Airlines and the consulting firm AVi8 Air Capital, is the seventh attempt to revive the brand with a fleet of Airbus A320neos based in Miami.

Eager to reconnect with the brand's original image, this latest relaunch is accompanied by the intention of leveraging Amadeus' technological expertise to target the premium market.

“Pan Am is more than a brand: it’s the most iconic name in the history of commercial aviation, and its return must be built on cutting-edge technology,” said Ed Wegel, CEO of Pan American World Airways.

“The partnership with Amadeus provides us with a solid foundation to build a modern, competitive, and customer-centric airline that honors Pan Am’s legacy while delivering the innovation and reliability that today’s travelers expect.”
