Thomas Cook Netherlands expansion supported by Paxport tech

Extended partnership agreed for flight distribution, caching and payments

Paxport has signed an extended partnership deal with Thomas Cook after being chosen to supply flight distribution technology to support the OTA’s growth in the Netherlands.

In 2020, Fosun Tourism Group re-launched Thomas Cook as an online-only travel business, bringing back one of the travel industry’s most recognised brands.

The brand will use Paxport’s PaxFaB flight aggregation platform to source the airline fares and information required for its market expansion plans.

Thomas Cook will also use PaxCache for accurate flight data caching and Pax2Pay for virtual card payments offering automation, better reconciliation and a new revenue stream.

Trevor Bates, aviation manager at Thomas Cook, said: “Our focus for our new Netherlands business was taking as much of our existing digital platform as we could.

“Extending our relationship with Paxport in this way enables our customers to access flying from some of the major carriers and from all airports to give them choice and flexibility.”

Paxport said its “wide reach” of content and agile products has enabled Thomas Cook to launch quickly into a new market.

Simon Taylor, head of sales and account management at Paxport said: “Our long-standing relationship with Thomas Cook continues to evolve and we are proud to be supporting their venture into a new European market.

“Paxport’s agile end-to-end technology is the perfect enabler to support this growth and we look forward to helping Thomas Cook continue their exciting journey.”
