Amadeus leisure arm Traveltainment is pushing its package holiday research and booking system to Thomas Cook websites across Europe.

The system has been used in Germany for some time and is now being rolled out to France, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium.

In the UK, Traveltaiment’s strategy is to increase the volume of content in terms of bedbanks, rental homes, transfers and car-hire its systems provide and sales director Colin McKee role has been expanded in the short-term to achieve that goal.

The company is also about to launch its booking engine with ebookers in the next couple of weeks.

Newly-appointed managing director Andrew Nicholson said Traveltainment’s technology has been made more flexible and simplified to fit the UK market.

The company offers four products including a booking engine aimed at small independent travel providers, a bespoke model with more flexibility, its Travel Office system and its hotel review content.

Nicholson also said technology in development in Germany for release from the middle of next year could really help companies get a competitive edge.

“Once they see the system people fall over themselves about how good it is. Then we show them the pipeline technology, how flexible it is, how much content it offers and how it can be manipulated.”

In Germany, Traveltainment powers about 80% of the online package holiday market.
