Gekko.com adds hotel-matching tool

Hotel search website gekko.com has unveiled a new version of its site allowing users to find hotels that match their favourite places to stay

Hotel search website gekko.com has unveiled a new version of its site allowing users to find hotels that match their favourite places to stay.

The site invites users to enter their destination and the name of a hotel in another destination they favour.

It will then search for similar hotels in the chosen destination which users can then book, confident, claimed Gekko, that they have chosen the right hotel for them at the right price.

Matches are generated by Gekko and users can share a shortlist of recommendations and follow friends and colleague’s recommendations via an ‘Address Book’ function.

Michel Cassius, Gekko chief executive, said: “Our aim is for users to stop searching and start finding their kind of place.

“We are helping users find the right hotel for them with our Gekko recommendation engine which is fuelled by the tastes of like-minded people.

“There is a huge hole in the market for a site that gives people complete confidence in their hotel booking.

“Through innovative tools like our new personal Address Book feature, Gekko.com gives travellers the ability to discover great hotels and be sure that they have made the right decision.”

Gekko quoted research by Forrester that suggested only one in three online hotel bookers are satisfied with the way travel websites present choices.
