Asia-based hotel meta-search site DirectRooms is expanding by adding 10 local additional languages in countries where it sees hotel bookings on the rise.

The latest languages include Hungarian, Czech, Romanian, Finnish, Croatian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Slovakian, Ukrainian and Russian.

Consumers in these countries can now search and compare deals from 270 hotel booking sites in their native language.

DirectRooms claims to be the first site to offer a hotel meta-search in the Croatian language.

Shorter but more frequent weekend trips are becoming more popular in Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania, Croatia, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia and the Ukraine, according to the company.

Managing director Alex Lotz said: “This takes us to a total of 26 languages in our inventory and gives millions of potential travellers the widest choice of hotels and prices on the internet.”
