Arturo Moreno promoted into new role
Civitatis appoints chief supply and data officer
Spanish language tours and activities platform Civitatis has promoted Arturo Moreno to chief supply and data officer.
Moreno, who has served as chiefs and data officer for the past six years, will take over leadership of supply — now elevated to an independent executive division at the firm — and will continue to lead the company-wide data and AI transformation.
The restructuring is part of Civitatis' strategy of placing supply at the core of its growth model.
Moreno’s supply team will focus on a strategic and data-driven approach to reinforce curation and quality, while steering the evolution of the marketplace towards what Civitatis says will be a ‘more competitive model’ that increases the variety of suppliers to ‘ensure the best offer and availability for the customer at all times’.
This is hoped to be achieved by focusing on the ‘depth and exhaustiveness’ of the firm’s catalogue especially in categories such as ticketing and private tours which are seeing intense demand.
The strategy will include a focus on inventory management and optimising the match between supply and demand in a bid to strengthen the company's growth and leverage current travel sector trends.
Chief operating officer Enrique Espinel, who has led the supply team for ten years, will focus on international expansion.
He said: “Arturo's promotion and the creation of the independent chief supply officer role are a reflection of our maturity and strategic vision.
“With Arturo at the helm, we strengthen our strategic capacity for activity selection, ensuring the most complete, accessible, and high-quality offer for Spanish-speaking travellers anywhere in the world."
Inma López continues in her role on the supply team, directing commercial operations and operator partnerships, which the firm says are crucial for maintaining its relationships with 7,000 global operators.
