Dolphin Dynamics becomes early adopter of Travel Ledger rich data format

Firms' travel agent and tour operator clients will benefit from reduced transaction costs and speeded up B2B payments and invoice reconciliation

Travel agents and tour operators using Dolphin Dynamics back-office technology are to benefit from an enhanced partnership with Travel Ledger, the B2B payments reconciliation platform.

JTA Travel, an industry supplier and consolidator, will be among the first customers of Dolphin to adopt a new data format that will make the validation of invoices more efficient through automation.

Travel Ledger has been developed to support optional data feeds which it says will reduce accounting queries by providing precise enhanced billing information to their buyers, without requiring any changes to their processes.

Chris Walsh, financial controller at JTA Travel said: “The ability for Dolphin to include extra data in the files we upload to Travel Ledger is really exciting.

“We currently spend a lot of time each billing cycle generating extra data files to accompany our statements, particularly for our key suppliers.

“So enabling our agents to view this additional detail on Travel Ledger instead is great news. It will save us time as well as providing all the information our agents need in one place “

Travel Ledger is connected to UK and European payment systems for more secure and cost-effective settlement between travel buyers and sellers.

The start-up says this brings automation and standardisation to the complex B2B processes of invoicing, remittance and funds transfer.

The extended seller file format allows users the option to include richer booking data to reduce transaction costs and speed up payments.

Simon Wakeford, Travel Ledger tech-partner liaison officer, said: “We are incredibly pleased that Dolphin is now supporting Travel Ledger’s extended seller data file format.

“Explicitly designed for sellers to provide rich booking and financial data to their buyers to aid reconciliation and reduce rejections, its use will benefit Dolphin’s tour operator and travel agency users alike.

“As we roll out additional data exchange formats, we look forward to working closely with Dolphin and all our technology partners to provide innovative settlement solutions to our mutual customers”.

Chuck Richardson, Dolphin Dynamics managing director, added: “We are delighted to be the first tech company to harness Travel Ledger’s latest innovation.

“This enhancement to the Dolphin tour operator platform reflects our commitment to helping our customers optimise operations, adapt to industry changes and keep ahead of their competitors.”

Dolphin Dynamics was originally founded by experienced travel technologist Roberto Da Re who is also the founder of Travel Ledger.
