Experts from online travel deals platform Travelzoo have come up with their top destinations for bargain seeking Brits looking to offset the fall in the value of the pound.

With holidaymakers widely forecast to face rising costs this year as Britain leaves the EU, the publisher has reviewed international currencies, flight routes, hotel inventory.

It’s Deal Destinations for 2019 pick out what Travezoo says are “the best places to go this year for everything from a UK city break to an exotic bucket-list adventure”.

James Clarke, UK general manager at Travelzoo, said: “The rising cost of holidays added to the Brexit uncertainty in the UK means many travellers are choosing to book their 2019 trips in advance or are seeking out deals.

“Our Travelzoo experts have picked out the destinations where, due to new hotels, budget flight routes or currency benefits, the British holidaymaker’s pound will go that bit further.”

Travelzoo’s latest trends analysis come after the publication of Abta’s Holiday Habits survey which revealed that the average spend on overseas holidays was down.

It found fewer travellers are budgeting more on overseas holidays for 2019 than they did in 2018 although forward bookings are up 12% as shopper look to secure early bargains.
