Icelolly.com and TravelSupermarket report positive last minute and summer trends
Ice Travel Group Pulse: Search volume and bookings continue to increase
Lastminute April bookings as well as Summer holiday bookings are leading demand trends for UK holidaymakers.
This is according to the most recent Pulse report from icelolly.com and TravelSupermarket parent Ice Travel Group (ITC).
In the week to March 27, May 2022 became the most-searched departure month on icelolly.com with a 28% increase in share, week-on-week.
The biggest share increase was for June 2022 departures. April grew share slightly to remain the most-searched departure month on TravelSupermarket.
Summer 2022 departures dominated bookings across both icelolly.com and TravelSupermarket.
Summer 2023 had a bigger share on TravelSupermarket while late winter 2021/2022 departures had a larger share on icelolly.com.
Crete gained further share this week and moved up to the seventh most-searched. Despite an increase in share for Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura all lost search share.
The Antalya area of Turkey saw the biggest share gain on TravelSupermarket, moving up to fifth most-searched (from tenth last week).
Booking share for Turkey on both sites increased. Corfu entered the top ten on icelolly.com. Ibiza, Gran Canaria and Crete entered the top ten on TravelSupermarket.
Chris Webber, head of holidays and deals at Ice Travel Group, said: “Searches and bookings are still increasing week-on-week and this sustained positivity about a summer holiday is reflected in the bookings across both icelolly.com and TravelSupermarket.
“Nine out of ten bookings on icelolly.com in the past seven days were for Summer 2022 and eight out of ten bookings on TravelSupermaket were for that period. There’s been an increase in bookings for Turkey over the past week, but Tenerife still tops the most-booked list for both sites.
“The Canaries were a quarter of all bookings on icelolly.com and two-thirds of the last-minute March bookings were for the Canary Islands, too.”
