Trade partners are to be access to more pricing options and ancillaries
Emirates to expand agent offer on its NDC Gateway
Emirates is to offer new services and content to agents on its New Distribution Capability-enabled platform Emirates Gateway from July 1.
Agents signed up to Emirates Gateway will have access to different ticket pricing and excess baggage fares.
They will also have faster access to ancillary products and different pricing for select ancillary services, Emirates said.
Emirates Gateway launched in October last year.
Agencies not signed up to the Emirates Gateway can continue to access Emirates’ content through the airline’s Global Distribution System (GDS) partners Amadeus, Travelport, Travelsky, Infini and Sirena.
But from July 1, bookings made via a GDS will incur a surcharge ranging between US$14 and US$25 per ticket, which Emirates said was “to mitigate the higher cost” of GDS distribution.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ chief commercial officer said: “Our goal is to empower our trade partners to deliver even better customer experiences.
“We are pleased to introduce the next batch of new exclusive features and benefits for them on Emirates Gateway, which was launched to address the limitations of current legacy systems and provide a wide range of additional content and options for agents.
“We are heartened by the support and positive feedback that we’ve received from our trade and GDS partners to date.
“Emirates firmly believes in healthy, long-term relationships with all players in the travel eco-system, and we will continue to work hard to nurture the relationships that we’ve built through the years by providing great value and service.”
