HouseTrip claims first as it launches loyalty programme

A loyalty programme to reward frequent travellers has been devised by holiday rental website HouseTrip.com.

This marks the first time a loyalty scheme has been launched in the fast-growing holiday rentals sector, the company claims.

Consumers booking 10 nights of accommodation receive a free night they can redeem against any subsequent booking of at least three nights within nine months from the date that the free night is issued.

The value of the free night is the sum of the previous ten nights booked, divided by ten.

So a guest who stays five nights in a property costing £100 a night and five nights in a property at £200 a night will receive a free night credit in the amount of £150.

People can only apply for one ‘free night’ voucher per booking, but there are no date restrictions or blackout periods. This means that the discount can be applied throughout the year including during peak booking periods such as summer holidays and Christmas.

Company co-founder and chief executive Arnaud Bertrand said: “The loyalty programme is an exciting new addition to our innovative marketplace, rewarding frequent guests and making holidays in private rentals even more affordable than ever before.

“Internal research completed by HouseTrip has shown that holiday rentals cost up to 20% less than equivalent quality hotel rooms in all key European destinations.

“Guests who take advantage of the HouseTrip+ rewards programme can therefore save even more money while enjoying the numerous benefits that holiday rentals have to offer such as additional space and bedrooms, fully-equipped kitchens and a range of amenities included at no extra charge such as Wi-Fi and laundry facilities.”
