GTMC opens for entries for Entrepreneurs in Business Travel Award
Entries are now open to find the winner of the 2019 Guild of Travel Management Companies (GTMC) Entrepreneurs in Business Travel Award.
At the awards, the representative body for TMCs and the business travel community in the UK rewards innovative start-up talent.
The 2018 title was awarded to delay repay business Railguard, an accolade which chief executive officer Matt Freckelton has since described as “truly transformational” for the business.
Entrants are encouraged from businesses offering new and inventive technology, innovative solutions in the business travel sector and products and services that will benefit TMCs, travel buyers or the business traveller.
Free to enter, a judging panel of business travel industry experts will narrow the submissions down to a final five who will compete at the GTMC’s 2019 Overseas Conference.
Representatives from the final five will take to the stage at the conference taking place in the Netherlands from June 30 to July 2. Delegates, senior representatives from across the GTMC’s TMC memberships and industry partners will vote for the 2019 winner.
Adrian Parkes, GTMC chief executive officer, said: “We introduced the GTMC Entrepreneurs in Business Travel Award last year as a way to celebrate some of the incredible, innovative work going into new products and services that benefit our flourishing sector.
“We’re passionate about nurturing the entrepreneurial talent bringing ground-breaking enhancements to the corporate travel industry. All five of the 2018 finalists have seen tangible results since taking part, so we’re excited to see what this year’s award holds.”
The 2019 Entrepreneurs in Business Travel Award winner will get access to the GTMC’s partnership programme for 12 months, offering them exposure to, and support from, GTMC’s TMC members and industry partners.
The deadline for entering the 2019 Entrepreneurs in Business Travel Award is Friday, April 12.
