Farelogix to add ‘NDC-aligned’ customisable shopping on agent desktop

Farelogix, a leading challenger to the incumbent global distribution systems, has announced it will add customisable shopping to its agency desktop from January.

Farelogix, a leading challenger to the incumbent global distribution systems, has announced it will add customisable shopping to its agency desktop from January.

The additional functionality will mean that agents using the SPRK platform will be able to filter results so that, for instance, factors like Wi-Fi and other ancillaries can be prioritised in results.

Farelogix made the announcement at yesterday’s Iata world Passenger Symposium in Dublin where its New Distribution Capability was hotly debated.

President and chief executive, Jim Davidson, said: “Our team has been listening to feedback from SPRK users, and the latest enhancements are designed to deliver an even more intuitive product that meets the needs of both agencies and travellers.

“Travel should be all about putting the customer first, and this version of SPRK is more closely aligned with selling travel in accordance with Iata’s traveller-centric New Distribution Capability.”

Other enhancements to SPRK include the Air Search page, which now features a cleaner interface that enables users to quickly focus on key information.

The Passenger Name Record (PNR) workspace now features a shortcut toolbox to show or hide PNR sections and emphasise relevant data with clear alerts and notifications. Queue management now allows for a pageable and sortable queue list with easy navigation.

The SPRK agency desktop was launched in 2009 and supports comprehensive airline merchandising, including Electronic Miscellaneous Documents (EMD A&S) and extensive PNR servicing capabilities such as automated Exchange and Re-issue.

It offers multi-language support and is used by travel agencies around the world as well as in call centres that focus on PNR servicing and itinerary changes post-booking, including Priceline.
