Heathrow-Perth demand up by a third ahead of new non-stop Qantas flight, says Skyscanner
Leading metasearch site Skyscanner has seen demand for Heathrow to Perth flights increase by over a third ahead of the launch of the first non-stop service between the two cities on Sunday.
The data, comparing 2017 figures to 2016, shows Perth was the fastest-growing Australian city last year, up 13%. Overall the number of people flying from the UK to Australia was up 6% year on year.
On Sunday Australian carrier Qantas will fly the first non-stop service to the Western Australia city with an estimated 17-hour flight time
Skyscanner said that prices as of March 21 for the route this year start at just £761 return in June, 24% lower than the average for the route.
The current return price for the inaugural direct flight from London Heathrow to Perth on 25th March (returning one week later) is £1,135 4
The average flight price from London Heathrow to Perth was £813.12 in 2017, down 1% Year on year while the average price of Qantas flight from London Heathrow to Perth in 2017 was £877.06.
