Sidestep is boosting its senior management line-up with the appointment of former-Yahoo vice president of business operations Matthew Heist.

Heist will be responsible for strategy behind the travel search engine’s core and international operations, including websites in the UK and Europe.

At Yahoo! Heist oversaw strategy for its search businesses in a number of verticals including shopping, property, travel and cars.

Sidestep president and chief executive Rob Solomon said: “Matt brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the SideStep executive roster.

“He is a trusted, proven leader in the Internet business world and will be instrumental in furthering SideStep’s reach in the U.S. and across the globe.”

Sidestep is still expecting to replace Kevin Eyres, who ran European operations until September this year.

Heist said: “The company continues to grow by focusing on its core strengths and innovations, and I look forward to making contributions that increase SideStep’s value proposition for consumers and travel suppliers.”
