SilverRail integrates with Google for rail search

Move is part of plan to embed sustainability in platform

Rail technology SaaS company has unveiled its integration with Google, powering both rail searches and bookings for Google’s users.

As part of a broader drive to embed sustainability into its platform, Google is said to be launching UK rail directly into its search engine and directing users to book train tickets via SilverRail’s retailing platform.

Aaron Gowell, founder and chief executive officer of SilverRail, said: “We are incredibly proud to announce our work with Google – helping them to help their billions of users to make greener travel decisions.

"Our deep experience in providing both journey planning and booking engines to organisations such as National Rail Enquiries, LNER and Transport for Wales will be useful as we help make rail easy for UK travellers searching online.”
