RendezVerse appoints strategic advisor as it prepares to bring Web 3.0 to hospitality
RendezVerse, the ‘metaverse-as-a-service’ platform for the hospitality and events industry, has appointed technology expert Michael Cohen as a strategic advisor.
With over two decades’ of experience in international strategic business development, Cohen will support RendezVerse’s expansion in the Americas and with regional brands.
As a specialist in VR, AR and XR solutions and commercialisation, Cohen is a metaverse mentor and advisor at the New York University’s Hospitality Hub Innovation Incubator.
He will focus on driving “impactful optimised commercial entry and growth, leading to enhanced company valuation, brand equity and market awareness”.
RendezVerse chief executive Peter Gould said: “Michael’s experience makes him a perfect fit for the RendezVerse team and his support will be invaluable as we continue to grow and help more businesses realise that when it comes to saving time, money and the planet, a metaverse strategy is not a game, it’s a gamechanger.”
The metaverse platform is already working with world famous hotels, including InterContinental Paris le Grand, Atlantis Palm Dubai and Madrid Marriott Auditorium.
It claims to be “transforming the global hospitality industry through its creation of immersive, true-to-life digital twins and revolutionising the way hotels and event spaces do business in the Web3 era”.
Cohen said: “Over my career I have always focused on companies like RendezVerse, which have a truly defining product, service or technology.
“RendezVerse clearly has the innovative and immersive metaverse platform and business model to unlock huge opportunities in the hotel and MICE industries, and I look forward to working closely with Peter and the RendezVerse team contributing to the scalable and sustainable growth of this ambitious business.”
The RendezVerse platform will launch globally in Autumn 2022. By the end of 2023 it says it will host over 1,000 hotels and several thousand buyers across the leisure and MICE industries bringing Web3 to the hotel and events industry.
