The online travel deals company has named Dunk as managing director, Europe, with responsibility for the UK, France, Germany and Spain.

Dunk, who joined Travelzoo in 2007 as UK country manager, is the first managing director to be appointed after Chris Loughlin was elevated to chief executive of the company last summer. A former managing director of Teletext Holidays on TV, Dunk was also sales director for the Daily and Sunday Telegraph.

Glen Drury continues to lead Travelzoo Local Deals across the region. Loughlin said: “Stephen is a passionate developer of people and an outstanding leader.

“He has a thorough understanding of what it takes to build a successful internet media business and a track record to prove it. I am confident that Stephen will continue to drive productivity and cement our market position as Europe’s leading high-quality publisher of outstanding travel and entertainment deals.”
