First significant structural change made as the TMC reshapes the business to drive success in the post-pandemic era
FCM Consulting appoints Thrust Carbon's Glenn Thorsen as lead on sustainability
Flight Centre’s consulting arm has appointed former head of partnerships for Thrust Carbon Glenn Thorsen as its new lead on sustainability.
He will join the firm early next month to help travel management giant FCM’s clients address their environmental aims.
The appointment represents the first significant structural change made by consultancy head Jo Lloyd, as she reshapes the business for post-pandemic success, FCM said.
Lloyd added: “Glenn’s entrepreneurial mindset, passion and deep knowledge of this incredibly important area will be invaluable in supporting our customers on their sustainability journeys.
“As the customer and industry facing voice of the sustainability pillar within FCM Consulting, he will apply his considerable expertise to help our clients get the best out of their programmes and achieve their goals. I know he will make an immediate impact.”
Denmark-based Thorsen joins a global team of subject-matter experts in areas such as travel sourcing, program optimisation, payment solutions who advise FCM’s clients.
Thorsen was described as “a well-known and respected figure across the global sustainability community”.
FCM said at Thrust Carbon he “drove awareness and adoption of the emissions intelligence platform across the corporate travel industry”.
“A natural innovator with a strong start-up and enterprise background, he brings wide-ranging consultancy skills honed across a diverse range of industry sectors mostly within the lifestyle tech space to this new role”, added FCM.
Along with his consulting responsibilities, Thorsen will support FCM’s internal sustainability
efforts collaborating with global sustainability officer Michelle Degenhardt on environmental, social and governance (ESG) objectives.
Degenhardt said: “Sustainability is an area that is extremely important to FCM, its people, customers, and partners.
“I am thrilled to welcome Glenn to our global team of experts as we build upon our vast array of programmes and initiatives and progress towards a better, more sustainable future.”
