Dida partners with WEX to synchronise distribution and payments

Seven‑year deal synchronises demand and payments

Shenzhen‑based Dida Holdings and WEX have signed a seven‑year agreement aimed at reducing friction in how travel bookings are paid and settled worldwide. By aligning demand signals more closely with payment execution, the partners say they will help lift conversion, accelerate settlement and ease cross‑border complexity across booking flows.

WEX brings B2B payments infrastructure and deep expertise in virtual cards, cross‑border settlement and automation. The company processes approximately US$90 billion in annual travel virtual card volume and supports many of the world’s largest travel players. Combined with Dida’s distribution reach and visibility across demand, the tie‑up is designed to deliver more consistent and efficient execution across the value chain, giving hotels and suppliers faster, more reliable settlement and better alignment between contracted rates and funds received.

Converting demand into bookings efficiently

On the distribution side, agencies, TMCs, tour operators and OTAs could see improved conversion and fewer transaction failures, particularly in complex cross‑border scenarios. The ambition is to synchronise, within a more connected framework, how demand is generated with how transactions are executed, in order to stabilise flows and reduce manual work.

“The starting point of travel has moved. Demand is being shaped earlier and in more fragmented environments than ever before,” said Daryl Lee, Group CEO of Dida Holdings. “This creates a disconnect with legacy payment models. Our work with WEX is a critical step toward linking discovery, distribution and execution into a single, integrated system. Platforms that can operate across all three layers will have a clear advantage in capturing and retaining value across the transaction.”

“Success in today’s travel ecosystem depends not only on generating demand, but on how efficiently that demand is converted into bookings,” said Jason Hancock, Managing Director of Global Travel at WEX. “By connecting how demand is generated with how transactions are settled, we are helping partners move away from fragmented processes. This partnership brings together Dida’s distribution capabilities with WEX’s global payment infrastructure to improve conversion and accelerate settlement across the travel ecosystem.”

The partnership comes as B2B payments — and virtual cards in particular — take centre stage in securing transactions and absorbing multi‑currency complexity. By combining Dida’s position as a gateway between China, APAC and the rest of the world with WEX’s global footprint, the companies aim to standardise and de‑risk payment execution at scale, cutting friction, speeding settlement and improving authorisation rates.
