On The Beach issues warning over fake Twitter account

OTA says it is working with Twitter to take the fake account down

OTA On The Beach says it is working with Twitter to take down a fake account that appears to be trying to help customers with refunds and enquiries.

The account has just three followers and has published 197 almost all identical tweets having been recently created in September.

It uses the same On The Beach imagery and logos as the real account and is asking people who have responded to a general tweet about the COVID-19 crisis to contact it direct.

The genuine On The Beach account was created in February 2009 and is verfiied by a Twitter blue tick.

In a tweet posted on the genuine On The Beach account, the OTA  said:

“We are aware of a fake On the Beach Twitter account (OntheBeachUK_) that has been created and are working with Twitter to ensure that this is removed as soon as possible.

“This is the only official On the Beach Twitter account, verified by the blue tick next to our name.”
