Travel and event management firm TAG has expanded its global presence by establishing a base in Hong Kong

The firm already has offices in the UK, the US, Singapore and Australia, as it looks to created an around-the-clock global service.

Shane Barr, TAG managing director Asia-Pacific, said: “Asia is currently one of the most dynamic and exciting regions in the business world.

“Having a presence in Hong Kong provides the perfect stepping stone into the booming Chinese market.

“This new expansion will strengthen TAG’s visibility in the region and allow us to offer a premium level of service to our growing client base travelling and doing business across Asia.”

Daniel Price, group corporate director, added: “With TAG’s latest venture in Hong Kong, we are delighted to offer our existing and potential new clients, TAG’s high-quality service in four of the top five global financial hubs – New York, London, Hong Kong and Singapore.

“Combined with an offering on the West Coast of the US and Australia, this will allow us to extend our TAGAnalytics and strategic account management, along with access to local competitive airline fares with that TAG white glove personalised touch”.

Separately TAG and Tramada Systems have announced the signing of the first global TMC implementation agreement for its cloud-based post-booking software.

TAG first implemented Tramada in Australia, where the software has been in place for a year, and positive results in increased automation and productivity for agents prompted the partnership to go global.

Stuart Mackay, chief technology officer at TAG, said: “It would be an understatement to say the results TAG has achieved with Tramada are impressive.

“The level of automation used during our booking process has increased significantly with tramada, which has improved overall client experience in multiple ways as well as enabling our company to increase cost savings and revenues and improve our ability to be more agile in an ever-changing environment.”

Jo O’Brien, chief executive of Tramada Systems, added: “We are delighted to announce this global agreement with TAG, one of the world’s leading travel and event management companies.

“Their passion and commitment to delivering a personalised service to their clients is matched by their dedication to seamless processes to reduce friction for their agents and clients.

“From day one, it was clear to both companies that we have a shared vision for the future and we are excited about this next phase, as we bring that vision to life.”

TAG’s implementation of Tramada beyond Australia began in September. The system will be rolled out in the US in 2020, followed by TAG UK.
