Dealchecker revamps deals search tool following collapse of Thomas Cook

Queries for cheap holidays have more than tripled since the collapse of leading tour operator and retailer

Price comparison website Dealchecker has re-vamped its ‘Real Deals’ holiday search tool in response to the demand for cheap holiday deals.

The site says it has seen queries for cheap holiday deals more than tripled since the collapse of leading tour operator and retailer Thomas Cook last week.

Stephen Molloy, managing director of Dealchecker, said: “We were saddened by the news of Thomas Cook’s collapse last week, having had a successful and longstanding partnership with the travel agent for more than 10 years.

“Since that time, we’ve seen a huge spike in searches for holiday deals to Thomas Cook’s most popular destinations, including Greece and Spain; while searches for holidays to Turkey have more than tripled, as customers seek out trusted offers following the void left by the travel giant.

“We’re on a mission to fill that void and ensure that the best and most transparent holiday offers are made available to customers, which prompted the decision to revise our deals webpage.

“We’re proud to be a consumer champion for great holiday deals, as we guarantee that all our ‘Real Deals’ are verified by one of our expert team based here in our UK head office, ensuring that they’re genuine and customers won’t get a better deal anywhere else.”

New features of the ‘Real Deals’ webpage include clear filter tools that help highlight the best and most affordable holiday deals to popular short-haul destinations, clear messaging on Dealchecker’s mission to champion great holiday deals, and links to Atol protection advice pages.
