Travelgate acquires AO UK and brings content orchestration into its platform

Acquisition adds content orchestration to hotel connectivity

Travelgate, the global network for hotel distribution based in Palma de Mallorca and part of the Travelsoft Group since 2024, has acquired AO UK Ltd. The British software company brings nearly two decades of product information expertise applied to travel. The deal aims to close the gap between distributing inventory and making offers ready to sell by natively integrating content within Travelgate’s platform, which already connects more than 1,000 buyers and sellers through a standardised API.

The tie-up introduces a large-scale layer of content orchestration. Suppliers can create, enrich and control their descriptions and media with precision. Distributors receive consistent, channel-ready content across all markets. The latest release of AO Campaign unifies Product Information Management, Digital Asset Management and Master Data Management on a single platform with AI assistance: workflow automation, multilingual and multi‑channel publishing, personalised documentation generation, digital asset management and end‑to‑end auditability, the company said. AO UK’s leadership remains in place to ensure product and client continuity.

Luisa Camara, chief commercial officer at Travelgate, said: "This is a natural evolution of the platform. It allows us to go beyond moving inventory, into improving how that inventory is actually presented and performs."

Connectivity moves product. Content makes it sell

By internalising content orchestration, the platform aims to improve conversion rates and lower operating costs tied to fragmented toolchains. "This acquisition adds a capability to our platform that the hotel distribution industry has needed for a long time," said Pedro Camara, chief executive of Travelgate. "Connectivity moves product. Content makes it sell. Travelgate now delivers both."

The company used the announcement to underline its scale: its network processes over 65,000 bookings and 9 billion searches per day, representing more than €5 billion in annual turnover. AO UK, founded in 2006 in the United Kingdom, has teams in the UK, Australia and North America and serves clients across the travel sector, from tour operators and agencies to DMCs and hotel wholesalers.
