Coronavirus: Expedia launches travel and hospitality industry training academy for furloughed staff
A new online professional learning scheme has been launched by Expedia aimed at furloughed travel and hospitality staff.
Expedia Group Academy aims to help people currently not in work to develop their sills and networks to take advantage of career opportunities as the COVID-19 recovery gathers steam.
Modules are led by industry and subject matter experts as well as Expedia Group executives. A new online learning module with different theme will be launched each month.
Modules will include webinars, online training, activity guides and downloadable resources.
Travel industry professionals have been invited to sign up now to take part in the academy which will run from July to October 2020.
Melissa Maher, chief inclusion officer at Expedia Group, said: “Expedia Group Academy is part of our holistic approach to help the entire travel industry, including our displaced workers, stay productive and on a path towards growth and success during this disruption.
“Expedia Group Academy will help upskill industry employees as they look to return to full time employment in a way that strengthens not only their career opportunities but will also make them a valuable addition to any company.”
Upon completion of each monthly module, participants will unlock exclusive opportunities that better equip them for their next employment opportunity.
