Manchester-based travel software specialist Web Applications has announced that finance director Craig Kennedy has stepped up to become managing director.

The new position is effective immediately with the firm poised to unveil the next iteration of its ‘Traveller’ platform.

Craig Dean remains in place as chief executive, while Web Applications’ other two founders and major shareholders Gordon Pearce and Lee Tudor remain closely involved.

Dean said: “The board and I are delighted to announce the new managing director.

“Craig [Kennedy] has already been fulfilling many of the responsibilities associated with the MD role as part of his day to day duties, and we believe recognising his contribution is long overdue.

“For a long time he has been more than a Finance Director, and we’re excited to see him continue to bring his energy and enthusiasm to the senior management role.

“Craig [Kennedy] and I have a great working relationship and that will continue as he takes on his new role.”

Web Applications said the promotion will allow the business to continue its focus on existing customers, while developing the next generation of its reservations system.
