Long haul specialist Travelbag has signed a major partnership deal with travel portal Australiatravelmarket.com to distribute its portfolio of products.

The operator will join other travel outfits such as Emirates, Best At Travel, Australian Pacific Touring and the Intercontinental Hotels on the site.

Australia Travel Market, which is part of the wider Global Travel Market group, has also launched a marketing drive in conjunction with Travelbag to coincide with the peak booking months for UK tourists looking to travel to the southern hemisphere.

Travelbag marketing director Matthew Foster said: “Australia is an absolutely key destination for Travelbag customers. We very much look forward to our collaboration with Australia Travel Market which we consider to provide an innovative method of distribution to a highly qualified target audience of travellers to Australia.”

The deal marks another high-profile partnership signed between GTM in recent months.

The company won a contract to power a flight search engine for UK users on Lonelyplanet.com and is currently working alongside Kayak and Berzurk on the site.

GTM chief executive Dave Simmons added: “We are delighted to be working closely with Travelbag and welcome them to the platform to enjoy the record visitation levels to Australia Travel Market we have enjoyed this month.

“With the peak booking months for travel from the UK to Australia looming, we are looking forward to a great partnership with Travelbag.”
