Trainline and Swile Travel renew and expand partnership

The two companies are announcing the expansion of Swile Travel's inventory to include key operators in Spain and Italy

Trainline Partner Solutions has renewed its partnership with Swile Travel and announced the expansion of its inventory to include Renfe, Iryo and Italo, with the aim of facilitating business travel bookings in Spain and Italy.

The two companies are renewing their collaboration to enhance rail access for business travellers. The two companies are announcing the expansion of Swile Travel's inventory to include key operators in Spain and Italy. Alongside SNCF, Eurostar, Ouigo, Trenitalia, BeneVia and SBB, Swile Travel will now offer tickets for Renfe, Iryo and Italo directly from its platform. This development aims to establish the platform as one of the most comprehensive in terms of rail inventory in Europe, offering enhanced coverage of major domestic and cross-border routes.

This expansion will provide access, via Trainline Partner Solutions, to the schedules, fares, and availability of all these carriers. The goal is to enable companies to centralise the search for and booking of business trips in Spain and Italy on a single platform, thereby eliminating the need to manage multiple channels. By aggregating content and harmonising pricing rules within a unified environment, the intention is to reduce friction while preserving the control, governance and reporting requirements inherent in business travel.

This announcement aims to highlight the capacity of rail to offer a credible alternative to air travel for certain distances. It provides competitive travel times while striving to balance carbon neutrality with a high-quality passenger experience. By increasing the number of operators available, Trainline Partner Solutions and Swile Travel intend to make rail travel more accessible to employees and more transparent for companies focusing on corporate social responsibility (CSR). Swile Travel previously offered services from SNCF in France, Eurostar for cross-Channel connections, Ouigo and Trenitalia in Italy, Benerail (including SNCB) in Belgium, and NS in the Netherlands, as well as SBB in Switzerland. The addition of Renfe, Iryo and Italo therefore represents a significant enhancement, with the aim of providing access to one of the most comprehensive rail aggregators in Europe.
