Trainline and Amex GBT expand partnership into EU

Move touted to offer corporate travellers more sustainable options

Trainline Partner Solutions (TPS), the B2B branch of the Trainline group, is expanding its contract with American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) into the EU.

The partnership, which has been in place for ten years, has been expanded to give Amex GBT customers the same access to train travel in the EU via Amex GBT’s booking channels as they get for train travel in the UK.

Amex GBT customers will have access to full online booking and after sales support from TPS, access to train seat maps, and cost savings via Trainline’s SplitSave for UK journeys.

Customers will also be able to see carbon emission calculations for their journeys and compare the environmental impact of rail and air travel.

TPS says this gives Amex GBT customers more sustainable travel options, while Amex GBT says the tie-up can help its clients meet carbon reduction targets.

The firms believe the deal will give corporate travellers ‘more convenient’ travel options when changes come online from the end of 2025.
