Sykes Holiday Cottages appoints new marketing director following recruitment drive

Sykes Holiday Cottages has appointed Chris Algar as a marketing director following the firm’s recent recruitment drive.
Algar began working with the Chester-based holiday home rental agency as head of owned and earned media in 2015.
He will enhance Sykes’ business position in the UK and support the brand’s marketing teams across the country while working closely with chief marketing officer James Shaw in this new role.
Algar will also support marketing for regional sister brands including Menai Holiday Cottages, Dream Cottages and Helpful Holidays.
He said: “It’s great to be able to continue my professional journey at Sykes Holiday Cottages and I’m excited to now move into a new role with fresh challenges and opportunities.
“Our team has made great strides in recent years, including driving double digit growth in brand visibility year-on-year, and I can’t wait to see what we achieve next.”
Shaw said: “Chris’ new role as Marketing Director is very well deserved and he brings an unmatched set of skills and experience.
“He’s been with the business throughout a lot of its growth and I look forward to seeing the role that he plays as we accelerate our plans to become the leading name in UK tourism.”
The appointment of Algar follows Sykes’ recent recruitment drive, where the business advertised 100 roles as part of its expansion.
The firm has seen over 300 new hires since the start of this year.
