RateGain integrates Stripe with UNO to facilitate hotel payments
RateGain announces the integration of Stripe with its UNO Booking Engine. The aim is to strengthen cross-border payments and improve the conversion rate of hotels’ direct bookings worldwide by reducing friction at checkout.
RateGain Travel Technologies is integrating Stripe with its UNO Booking Engine, the company’s direct commerce platform for hoteliers. UNO now natively embeds Stripe’s payment capabilities to secure and streamline payment for stays, particularly for an international guest base. With this partnership, the company aims to consolidate payments on the direct booking channel, reduce late-stage drop-offs, and strengthen the relationship between hotels and their guests on the owned channel.
Stripe brings an enterprise-grade payment infrastructure across currencies and geographies, supporting multiple payment methods such as cards and digital wallets. Embedded at the heart of the UNO Booking Engine, these capabilities are designed to provide reliable, flexible payment acceptance that remains compliant with local requirements. RateGain presents UNO as a booking engine built to grow direct sales by delivering a continuous, brand-owned experience from discovery through to payment, to reassure users and encourage the completion of transactions.
Travellers increasingly expect simple, secure and flexible online payments, which requires hoteliers to optimise the checkout experience. According to RateGain, the integration of Stripe should help properties better serve guests booking from different countries, currencies and payment environments without adding operational complexity. The dual objective is to reduce friction that leads to abandonment and to strengthen the direct relationship by keeping full control of the owned channel throughout the purchase funnel, from search to confirmation.
“The most successful hotel brands today are prioritizing the checkout experience as a core part of their direct booking strategy,” said Ashish Sikka, Business Head, UNO Platforms, RateGain. “With Stripe integrated into the UNO Booking Engine, hotels can confidently serve global demand while maintaining full control of their direct channel, from discovery to payment.”
This integration forms part of UNO’s “Direct Stack” vision: bringing together demand, booking, distribution and payments within a single, scalable platform. In a market where hoteliers are looking to reduce their reliance on intermediaries, improving payment can become an immediate lever for conversion and margin on the direct channel. Better support for cross-border payments and local methods should help increase transaction completion, reinforce trust and, over time, support both acquisition and retention.
