Omio launches multimodal travel search directly in ChatGPT

Real-time multimodal search reaches 900 million users

Omio has launched a ChatGPT app that lets travellers search and compare train, bus, flight and ferry options using natural-language queries. The multimodal platform is bringing its inventory into a mainstream conversational interface, connecting a network of more than 3,000 partners and offering bookable options across 47 countries. The company, which serves over one billion users annually and says more than 100,000 people travel with its services every day, argues the move makes route, price and mode comparisons more immediate while tapping ChatGPT’s weekly audience of 900 million users.

“As AI takes centre stage, travel planning is shifting from search to conversation. With Omio now in ChatGPT, we are delivering real, bookable journeys in seconds. At the same time, we are enabling thousands of travel providers to be discovered in new ways and to extend their reach within a global, intelligent ecosystem. It’s a step towards building the infrastructure that will shape how billions of journeys are discovered and booked worldwide now, and in the future,” said Naren Shaam, founder and CEO of Omio.

The experience is designed around questions you would ask a travel adviser. Users can request the fastest or cheapest route between two cities, weigh up a train against a flight, or search for a specific departure date. The app then aggregates results from Omio’s inventory in real time, surfacing different combinations ahead of booking. The company adds that this conversational layer is powered by OpenAI’s most advanced models, including Codex and ChatGPT 5.4. The app is available globally in English via ChatGPT’s app connections.

“Over the past year, we’ve worked with OpenAI to embed cutting-edge AI across our entire business. This is only the beginning. At Omio, we want to lead the next, better era of intelligent travel, with more exciting announcements to follow. We’re building a future where intelligence anticipates your journey before you even start, and the world moves with you,” said Tomas Vocetka, chief technology officer of Omio.
