First deals in Portugal and Norway
Mindtrip, founded in 2023 in Silicon Valley, is rolling out its platform in Europe and has announced its first two partnerships: Madeira Promotion Bureau in Portugal and Norwegian Travel Cluster in Norway. The California-based company offers destination marketing organisations (DMOs) a conversational interface designed to transform how travellers discover a place. Traditional search becomes guided discovery, with destination content — stories and local expertise — surfaced by interest. Integrated into destination websites, the solution aims to bring inspiration and planning together in a single experience.
The experience starts with natural language. Travellers describe the kind of trip they have in mind — solo or family, high-end or budget-conscious, culture-led, outdoors or relaxation — and the platform generates tailored recommendations. These suggestions come with curated imagery, interactive maps, contextual information and real-time guidance. When embedded on a destination’s site, the tool highlights lesser-known spots, local restaurants and cultural venues, while delivering the planning fluidity travellers now expect.
Betting on personalisation and editorial quality
According to the company, the direction of travel is clear: destinations want to remain visible and relevant as AI exerts greater influence over trip decisions. Mindtrip says its aim is to align discovery with what travellers expect today, by leaning on personalisation and strong editorial standards. “With organic search declining, destinations across Europe are preparing for a world where AI increasingly shapes travel decisions and are turning to Mindtrip as the decision layer,” said Andy Moss, chief executive of Mindtrip. “Mindtrip gives DMOs greater control over how they are discovered and represented, while creating entirely new opportunities for local businesses to showcase authentic experiences. It’s what modern travelers crave today.”
Recently, the company unveiled Mindtrip Flights, an all-in-one agentic booking experience developed with Sabre and PayPal and presented as a first of its kind in the sector. The approach brings inspiration, flight comparison and payment into a single conversation-led interface, helping travellers assess complex itineraries and complete bookings in real time.
Founded in 2023 in Silicon Valley, the company relies on proprietary AI and a proprietary knowledge base to deliver personalised recommendations.
