Kaptio and Intrepid Travel celebrate partnership milestone
Fresh from completing the first phase of Intrepid Travel’s multi-year technology transformation, Kaptio has launched its platform across its global contracting functions.
This project marks a significant first for the multi-day travel reservation systems company.
Intrepid is the first customer globally to implement the Kaptio Platform’s group touring features at scale, with the two organisations working closely to shape a platform purpose-built for the future of group travel.
After just over a year of collaborative design, testing, and phased implementation, the Kaptio Platform is now live in all of Intrepid’s 31 country offices.
The system replaces legacy platforms with a flexible, multi-day travel-specific solution built on Salesforce, bringing together reservations, pricing, sales, and operations into one unified platform.
As one of the industry’s largest certified B Corps, this rollout represents a major milestone in Intrepid’s journey to upgrade its systems, elevate customer and employee experience, and power sustainable international growth.
The implementation is a cornerstone in Intrepid’s three-year digital transformation program, which aims to future-proof the company as it scales toward its vision of becoming the world’s first $1 billion adventure travel business.
With the Kaptio Platform now rolled out across the company, Intrepid is equipped with a modern system architecture that enables greater agility, automation, and personalisation, laying the foundation for more tailored travel offerings and a more scalable business model.
“This milestone marks a bold shift in how we operate and innovate,” said Anu Karunatilaka, Chief Technology Officer at Intrepid Travel.
“Kaptio’s platform will improve our people experience and equip our teams with the tools they need to serve our customers better, unlock efficiencies, and achieve our long-term strategy.”
“Partnering with Intrepid has been both a privilege and a milestone for Kaptio,” said Viðar Svansson, CEO of Kaptio.
“This milestone reflects months of close collaboration, deep trust, and shared vision. Together, we’ve built something that will not only serve Intrepid’s needs today but will help lead the next era of travel innovation and group travel. We are proud to support a company whose commitment to people, planet, and purpose aligns so closely with our own.”
With the platform adoption now past the first milestone gates, Intrepid is positioned to accelerate its strategic initiatives, from launching new tailor-made offerings to enhancing accessibility within the customer experience.
Upcoming phases will further build on this momentum, expanding functionality and refining capabilities in partnership with Kaptio.
