HBX Group launches Sponsored Listings to accelerate hotel demand

Sponsored listings target booking intent

In a 19 March communiqué from London, HBX Group, a leading independent B2B travel technology marketplace, launched Sponsored Listings, a format that lets hotels buy premium placement in Hotelbeds and Bedsonline search results. The aim is to be seen by travel advisors and wholesalers precisely when they are comparing options and booking through the group’s web platform.

Hotels can either secure the first position on the first page or maintain a steady presence via multiple sponsored slots across that page. The model uses simple, bid-free visibility tiers, allowing properties to align exposure with their commercial strategy, target priority markets and capture demand where it matters most. Comprehensive reporting on impressions, clicks and bookings provides transparency so partners can steer campaigns on measurable results and translate exposure into reservations and revenue.

HBX Group frames the move as an expansion of its Marketing Suite and a step towards building a B2B-focused Travel Media Network. Designed for the trade rather than consumer platforms, the product places listings at the point of decision for a qualified audience. According to HBX Group’s early activations, some campaigns have achieved up to a four per cent click-through rate and up to one booking every 46 impressions. These initial indicators will need to be borne out over time as usage scales.

Beyond visibility, the format taps into HBX Group’s high-value B2B distribution network. Across the network, 70 per cent of bookings come from international travellers who book earlier — aiding forecasting and revenue management — generate average daily rates up to 35 per cent higher than domestic or intra-regional guests, and stay longer, which helps reduce operational costs per stay. The focus, therefore, is not only on volume but on improving the mix and profitability of bookings.

“This launch expands our Marketing Suite and reflects our ambition to continue building our capabilities as a Travel Media Network, complementing our core offering and giving hotels new ways to drive demand, revenue, and growth,” said Léo Moulinas, marketing and digital presence director at HBX Group. “Sponsored Listings gives our partners the visibility they need, at the exact moment travel agents are booking.”

The company, which operates Hotelbeds, Bedsonline, Roiback and The Luxurist, says it is present in 170 countries and employs more than 3,500 people worldwide. HBX Group International PLC is listed on the Spanish Stock Exchange, ISIN: GB00BNXJB679. The coming months will show how adoption varies by hotel category and market, and where the clearest gains in visibility and conversion emerge.
