The aim is to fully automate hotel room sales
Happyhotel raises €6.5 million to transform hotel revenue management with AI
The German startup Happyhotel has closed a €6.5 million Series A round to accelerate its expansion across Europe and invest in an autonomous commercial AI agent. The aim is to fully automate the selling of hotel rooms.
Happyhotel has raised €6.5 million in a Series A round. The round was led by Reimann Investors, with participation from existing partners Wecken & Cie, Seed + Speed Ventures and MBG Baden-Württemberg. The fresh capital will fuel its expansion across Europe and allow it to invest in its autonomous commercial artificial intelligence (AI) agent.
Founded in 2019, Happyhotel offers revenue management software for independent hotels and hotel groups, operating in 12 countries across Europe. “We are not building our system for the revenue manager—we are automating the tasks of a revenue manager,” said Rafael Weißmüller, CEO of Happyhotel. “Our goal is to enable professional revenue management for every hotel and fully automate the selling of hotel rooms so hoteliers can focus entirely on their guests.”
AI powering autonomous revenue management
In a sector sometimes challenged by recruitment difficulties and rising operating costs, Happyhotel’s value proposition may appeal to hoteliers. Its AI-powered solution automates, in real time, pricing and distribution tasks that until now represented a non-negligible manual workload. “By combining cutting-edge artificial intelligence with human expertise, Happyhotel helps independent hotels and groups stay profitable and competitive despite rising costs and staff shortages,” noted Daniel Steffen, senior investment manager at Seed + Speed Ventures, on LinkedIn.
This fundraise follows a first seed round of €2 million led by BW Innovation Fund in 2023 for the startup founded in 2019. Happyhotel’s shift from revenue management software to a full-scale AI agent reflects a broader trend in hospitality: moving from decision-support tools to autonomous systems capable of taking and executing complex commercial decisions without human intervention.
