Gateretail and JK Tech advance AI-powered inflight retail intelligence with JIVA

Agentic AI unifies inflight retail planning

Gateretail and JK Tech have set out the next phase of their partnership to strengthen AI-powered inflight retail intelligence. The suite, powered by JIVA Agentic AI Orchestrator, brings together planning capabilities built for airline retail and onboard F&B operations. Gateretail, a gategroup company with a global customer portfolio spanning four continents, supplies onboard retail to 1.2 million flights and more than 180 million passengers each year. The rollout will begin with carriers in the UK and Europe, where demand volatility and margin pressure are pushing for faster, data-backed decisions.

The solution unifies several core components within a single, integrated environment: demand forecasting, promotion simulation, optimal pricing recommendations and supplier order automation. By leveraging enterprise data, advanced AI and machine learning models, and agentic workflows, the platform aims to move airlines from fragmented, reactive processes to coordinated, predictive execution.

“The next phase of our partnership reflects our shared commitment to redefining inflight retail intelligence. By deepening our collaboration with JK Tech, we are equipping airlines with advanced AI-driven capabilities that improve planning precision, commercial performance, and operational resilience,” said José Lirio Silva, Global Managing Director & VP, gateretail.

“Forecasting, pricing and supply in one flow”

Airlines continue to grapple with sharply varying demand by route and passenger mix, constant trade-offs between out-of-stocks and perishable wastage, and discounts that weigh on margins. By streamlining forecasting, pricing and procurement within a single flow, Gateretail and JK Tech are targeting greater planning accuracy and stronger commercial performance.

“Airline retail operations demand precision, speed, and intelligence at scale. Through JIVA’s agentic AI capabilities, we are helping airlines connect forecasting, pricing, and supply decisions into a unified workflow that drives measurable revenue and margin impact. The positive impact of our partnership is already visible in improved decision velocity, stronger retail performance, and tangible business outcomes for our airline partners,” said Tanuj Singh, Sr. VP, Head- Marketing & UK/Europe Sales at JK Tech.

For airlines, the aim is to capture more ancillary revenue while controlling inventory costs and waste. The roadmap extends into AI-driven financial optimisation: automated sales reconciliation, rebate validation, improved revenue accuracy and enhanced forecasting. Greater automation is expected to reduce revenue leakage and underpin more reliable revenue recognition.
